# Bitcoin Pizza Day Promo: 3x Sats² Multiplier Boost

Bitcoin Pizza Day is celebrated every year on May 22nd, marking the first known commercial transaction using Bitcoin. On this day in 2010, programmer Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 BTC for two pizzas — an event that’s become legendary in the crypto community. It's a fun reminder of how far Bitcoin has come since its early days.

To commemorate this iconic moment in Bitcoin history, SatLayer is rolling out a special promotion.

* All rewards will be distributed in Sats² rewards, which can be used in future SatLayer ecosystem programs.
