Mechanics of Sats²

Sats² Base Rewards

You can deposit wrapped BTC or BTC Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) into SatLayer to start earning Sats².

Rewards are distributed automatically through snapshots that occur on different schedules depending on the network:

• EVM networks: Snapshots are taken every 24 hours.

• Sui: Snapshots occur at least once every 6 hours.

• BOB: Rewards are distributed on an ad hoc basis.

The current base rewards earn rate is set at 21,000 Sats² for every 1 wrapped BTC or BTC LSTs deposited.

Sats² Bonuses and Multipliers

Certain BTC assets may have different multipliers depending on the epoch. For example, LBTC might earn a 2x multiplier during the first epoch, but the multiplier could change in a future epoch, where uniBTC gets the highest multiplier. You can also earn additional multipliers by completing side quests. Community members who follow SatLayer on Twitter, actively engage in our Discord channel and join our Twitter Spaces might also be rewarded for their contributions. These bonuses reset with each new epoch.

You can earn Sats² through various actions. This is not an exhaustive list and there may be other (secret 🤫) ways and approaches to earn Sats².

Depositing BTC assets

After depositing wrapped BTC and BTC LSTs, not only you are stacking Sats² but also many of our DeFi protocol partners' rewards.

For example, depositors of uniBTC recieve not only Sats² but also uniBTC Diamonds and Babylon rewards all through the deposit of a single Bitcoin LST.

Referral campaign

Through our Sats² rewards program, users can share a personalized referral link to earn extra Sats². Each referral link is tied to the user, allowing the referrer to earn both fixed and variable Sats² rewards when the referred person completes specific actions, such as following SatLayer on Twitter, joining the Discord community, or restaking any amount of BTC assets.

Referring your friends to SatLayer also earns you Sats².

Engaging with the SatLayer Community

Earn XP by actively participating in our community campaigns and giveaways on Discord. These XP help you to level up and attain roles within Discord.

While earning XP is separate from earning Sats², we distribute various Discord roles to active community users on a frequent basis. These roles may offer hidden multiplier or boost which may boost your Sats² earnings!
